When it comes to choosing the right class of campervans, motorhomes or RVs compare them all on our booking engine. You will find all vehicles listed from small van conversions (VCs) to large A-class motorhomes.
How much does it cost to rent a campervan in Canada?
There are several choices you have to make before you get the full price of your campervan rental. We list below the options that you will be presented with:

You have to make an estimate of how many miles you will drive for the duration of your Canada holiday. Use Google maps to roughly work out the mileage that you will use. It is better to pre-purchase mileage before you travel. Choosing "unlimited mileage" may not be the most cost effective as you may over pay for the amount of miles you may travel. There are slight variations between Campervan rental companies as to what is included in a convenience kit or personal kit. Some travellers prefer a bare vehicle and then purchase everything they need or bring it along with them.
- Fraserway charges per person except when the all-inclusive option is selected The kit includes all cutlery, crockery, bedding, towels for each person and a fully equipped camper. The kitchen kit is extra.
- Cruise Canada includes bedding and towels.
- Canadream have kitchen and linen kits

- Escape Rentals charge separately for bedding, kitchen kit and electric kit.

Canadian rental companies use a "flex" booking system so the earlier a booking is made the cheaper it is. The rate is directly related to the number of available campervans and motorhomes to rent. When there are not many RVs or Campervans available to rent the daily rental rate increases. When there is a lot of campervans available for rent the rate is lower.
Often luxury motorhomes and RVs can be hired for a fraction of the cost if you book early because there are many available.
Some rental companies do rent out child safety seats but others don't offer this service so you will either have to bring your own or purchase them at a local store such as Walmart.

Is it easy to drive an RV?
Driving an RV is like driving a large car but it will take you a bit of practice. The roads are large, the RVs all have good mirrors and as they are all automatic.
Be mindful of the area above the cab if you are renting a motorhome with a large double bed above the driver's area. Taking it too close to high walls, low trees can cause damage.
If you are reversing, some motorhomes and RVs have reversing cameras fitted. Even if they do, get one of your passengers to help you.
Do I need a special licence to drive an RV in Canada?
No, a standard driving licence will cover you to drive an RV in Canada. The licence must be in English. If you have an international driving licence it must be translated into English.

All campervans have cooking facilities as standard. Most have a gas cook-top and many have an oven (furnace). The option of a microwave is offered where space permits. The microwave will only work if you are on a hook-up to mains electricity. Ask us to help if you have special requirements.
